Data Protection Law

Law 81 of 2019 has been approved to establish principles, rights, obligations and procedures that regulate the protection of personal data. Databases located in Panamanian territory, as well as entities responsible for managing personal data that are domiciled in Panama are subject to this new law. The law will enter into effect in 2 years (March 2021).
